The Start of my Wellness Journey
Mar 27, 2022
At the beginning of the year, I decided that it was time to overhaul my diet.
During lockdown I had fallen out of love with cooking, I started snacking more and eating more of the wrong types of foods. I subsequently started to get periods of lethargy and headaches, which looking back, I’m sure was my diet that was mainly to blame.
I wasn’t looking for a lose weight diet. Those of you that know me are aware I am already on the slim side, and my BMI classes me as underweight. I wanted a diet of nutrient rich food that would give me the health benefits that I was looking for now I was approaching 50.
I didn’t want to do it alone, so decided to take my husband along for the ride, as I knew he would probably benefit more than me.
So, what I am hoping to achieve from this?
I would love more energy. I go through periods of getting really tired, so I’d love to get to 7 o’clock in the evening without feeling like I’m ready to go to bed.
I want to fall in love with food and cooking again. To find new recipes suitable for the whole family that everyone enjoys.
I want a diet that will help me to grow stronger in my body. Having been diagnosed with osteoporosis three years ago, I know what I should be eating, but again, bad habits creep in and I’ve neglected the foods I should be eating.
I want my husband to embrace the change with me, so he also feels the benefits of a nutritious and healthy lifestyle.
I’ll share my progress, what’s working for me and what isn’t. Who knows, I might share some insights that will help you. I hope so.
So, I’m kicking of my wellness journey with 30 Days to Healthy Living. A programme I’m doing with WholeLife Wellbeing who are supporting me on this journey
